What to do if I get an error stating "Connection failed. A and CNAME record value is incorrect.''?

When you're attempting to connect a domain to your store, one common issue that can occur is the error message "Connection failed. A and CNAME record value is incorrect." In order for a domain to function properly, its DNS records must be configured correctly. This involves setting up the appropriate A and CNAME records to map the domain name to the Shoplazza IP address. If these records are not set up correctly, the domain may not function properly or may not be accessible at all.

Possible reasons

If you receive this error message, there could be several reasons.

  • A and CNAME record values are empty
  • A and CNAME record values are incorrect
  • A and CNAME records have been entered incorrectly into the domain provider account.

You can use the following options to resolve this issue.

A and CNAME values are empty or haven't been added correctly

You can adjust your A record and CNAME accordingly by logging into your domain provider account and pointing A record to the Shoplazza IP address and CNAME to correct the recorded value.

A and CNAME values have been added correctly but still give you an error

Using dig Command

The "dig @8.8.8.8" method is not only a Google resolution but also the verification process utilized by the backend of the store. Most international domain names prefer Google DNS resolution  .

Clearing DNS Cache

Sometimes, the DNS cache on your computer or browser can cause connection errors if it contains outdated or incorrect information. You can use the dig command method to check if the record value of the domain can be detected. If it is not effective yet, you will have to wait approximately ten minutes. If it still does not take effect after an extended time,

You can use Google Public DNS  to manually refresh the DNS cache by adding your domain.

Contact Support

If the above steps do not resolve the error, it is suggested that you contact Shoplazza customer support with supportive documents such as screenshots of A and CNAME values and DNS check result-A and CNAME values in public web.
