Importing product reviews in bulk (native reviews)

Adding product reviews to your online store is a great way to build customer trust and make your shop more engaging. Import product reviews in bulk, meaning you can upload many reviews simultaneously using an Excel file (XLS or XLSX). Include ratings, titles, descriptions, reviewer names, and even the number of likes. This guide will walk you through the process of importing product reviews, saving you time compared to adding them one by one.

Steps

1. Go to the Reviews section: In your Shoplazza admin, go to Products > Reviews, and then click Import > Import reviews.

2. Download the template: Download the sample review template provided. This will help you format your data correctly.

3. Fill out the template: Open the template in your spreadsheet program and fill out all the required information. Here's a breakdown of what each column means:

The table below describes the headers of the spreadsheet (the top row) and the types of information that belong in each column:

Header	Description
product_id	The ID used to identify a specific product. This cannot be left blank. To find the product ID, go to Shoplazza Admin Products All Products. Then, click on the product's details page and copy the ID from the basic information section.
product_title	The name of the product. Important: Use the product ID for importing reviews. Changing the product name through this import process is not supported.
product_status	Indicates whether the product is currently available for purchase. Use "Y" for available and "N" for unavailable. Important: Use the product ID to import reviews. Changing the product name through this import process is not supported.
created_by	Shows how the review was originally created. Important: You don't need to fill this in. The system automatically determines whether a store admin or a customer created the review.
review_status	Indicates whether the review is published or not. Use "Y" for published and "N" for unpublished. If you leave this blank, the review will be published by default.
score	The rating given in the review. You can use these values: 0.5, 1, 1.5, 2, 2.5, 3, 3.5, 4, 4.5, or 5. This corresponds to a star rating from 0.5 to 5 stars. This field cannot be left blank.
photo	A link to an image associated with the review. This can be left blank. To include an image, first upload it to your Shoplazza material library. Then, copy the image link and paste it here. If you want to include multiple images, separate the links with a comma (",").
body	The actual content of the review. This cannot be left blank.
name	The name of the person who wrote the review. This cannot be left blank.
like	The number of likes the review has received. This cannot be left blank.
create_time	The date and time when the review was created. Use the format YYYY/MM/DD (for example, 2024/12/30). Important: Make sure the date is not in the future.
country/region	The two-character shortcode for the reviewer's country or region. This can be left blank. To find the correct shortcode, open the iso_code_2.xlsx file that comes with the review template.
featured	Indicates whether the review is featured. Use "Y" for featured and "N" for not featured. The review will not be featured by default if you leave this blank.
verified	Indicates whether the review is verified. Use "Y" for verified and "N" for not verified. If you leave this blank, the review will not be verified by default.

4. Upload your file: Once you've filled out the template, save it as an Excel file (XLS or XLSX). In the Shoplazza admin, click Select file to upload your file. Choose Overwrite duplicated reviews with identical product ids and titles if updating existing reviews.

5. Start the import: Click Start importing to begin the process.

6. Review the results: When the import is finished, you'll see a summary of how many reviews were imported successfully and how many failed. If there were any failures, click Download failure list and reasons to see what went wrong.

Note

Ensure data is entered according to the specified guidelines. Acceptable formats are Excel files (XLS and XLSX).
The maximum file size you can upload is 10 MB.
You have the option to overwrite existing reviews if the product ID, reviewer's name, and review content are identical.
Remember to remove the example product from the template file before importing to avoid any issues.
