Shoplazza Payments | Fee Structure and Pricing Examples

When evaluating whether to enable Shoplazza Payments, merchants typically look for clarity on payment costs, pricing structure, and rate confirmation timing. This article explains the overall fee structure, fixed charges, and common pricing scenarios so merchants can better understand payment costs and plan with confidence.

This content is provided for informational purposes only. It explains pricing structure, fee logic, and applicable rules, but it does not constitute a final quote or contractual commitment. All applicable fees, rates, and conditions are determined by the merchant’s approved application and the final executed agreement. If any discrepancy exists between this article and the signed contract, the contract terms shall prevail.

Fee Structure Overview

Shoplazza Payments fees generally fall into the following categories:

  • Transaction processing fees.
  • Account setup and account maintenance fees.
  • Settlement, payout, and foreign currency–related fees.
  • Dispute and chargeback fees (if applicable).

Fee structures may vary by merchant location, settlement currency, and transaction type. The sections below explain how each fee category is calculated and when it applies. Final pricing is always defined in the signed agreement.

Transaction Processing Fees

1. Fee Calculation Logic: For each successful transaction, processing fees typically include:

  • A percentage-based fee, calculated on the transaction amount.
  • A fixed per-transaction fee, charged for each successful payment.

The exact percentage and fixed fee amounts depend on the merchant’s approved pricing and contractual terms.

2. Supported Payment Types: Transaction fees vary based on payment method and card type.

  • Shoplazza Payments supports a wide range of commonly used card payments and digital wallet payment scenarios. Different transaction types may be subject to different fee structures, as defined in the merchant’s final executed agreement.
    • Card payments: Visa, Mastercard, UnionPay, American Express, JCB, Discover, Diners Club, and other major card networks.
    • Digital wallets: Apple Pay and Google Pay.
  • Digital wallets do not incur additional wallet-specific fees. Transactions are charged based on the underlying card type used.

Depending on the merchant entity and the card’s issuing country, the same transaction may be classified under different pricing categories, which can affect applicable fees.

3. Common Transaction Scenarios

  • Failed payments: No processing fee is charged, and the funds do not enter the settlement process.
  • Refund after successful payment: No additional refund fee is charged, but the original processing fee is not refunded.
  • Refund after settlement: The customer must be refunded in full; the original processing fee remains non-refundable.
  • Disputes/chargebacks: Processing fees are not refunded, and additional dispute-related fees may apply.

Understanding Transaction Costs

Before signing a contract, merchants can form a reasonable expectation of payment costs based on the following principles:

  • Transaction costs typically consist of a percentage fee plus a fixed fee.
  • Payment method, card type, and transaction scenario can affect final costs.

In practical terms, processing fees are calculated as a percentage of the transaction amount, plus a fixed per-transaction charge.

Refund Fee Handling

Processing fees are charged on successful payments and are not refunded when an order is refunded.

  • Refund Scenarios
    • Orders paid via Shoplazza Payments: No additional refund fee is charged, but the original processing fee is not refunded.
    • Refunds after settlement: Merchants must refund the full customer payment amount; the original processing fee remains non-refundable and is deducted from available balance or future settlements.
    • Disputes or chargebacks: Processing fees remain non-refundable, and dispute handling fees may apply.
  • Refund Amount Rules
    • Merchants can specify refund amounts within system limits. If taxes were included in the original payment, merchants may choose whether to include taxes in the refund amount, depending on their business requirements. All related fees and refund records are available in the merchant admin transaction details and statements.
  • Fee Visibility in the Admin Panel: For successful transactions, the merchant admin provides transaction-level details, including applicable processing fees and the net amount credited. These details are available in the transaction records and help merchants review the fees applied and the funds received for each transaction.

Account Setup and Maintenance Fees

1. Account Setup Fee: A one-time setup fee applies when a merchant enables a Shoplazza Payments account under a single legal entity.

  • Account setup fee: USD 500 per entity
  • Each entity supports up to 30 stores by default

A new setup fee applies if:

  • The store count exceeds the default limit.
  • The legal entity changes.
  • The settlement currency changes.

These scenarios require new account configuration and compliance setup.

2. Monthly Account Maintenance Fee: Once the payment account is activated, a monthly maintenance fee applies:

  • Account maintenance fee: USD 5 per month

This fee covers ongoing account operations, system maintenance, and baseline risk and technical support.

Settlement, Payout, and Foreign Currency Fees

1. Non-Local Currency Settlement Fee: If the transaction currency differs from the merchant’s local settlement currency, a non-local settlement fee may apply.

  • Non-local currency settlement fee: 1%

This fee applies only to specific settlement scenarios.

2. Payout Fees: Payout fees depend on settlement currency and payout amount.

  • USD / CAD / EUR / GBP settlement accounts
    • Payout ≥ equivalent of USD 500: No payout fee
    • Payout < equivalent of USD 500: USD 5 payout fee
  • HKD settlement accounts
    • Payout ≥ HKD 4,000: No payout fee
    • Payout < HKD 4,000: USD 5 payout fee

Actual payout availability and thresholds are shown in the merchant admin.

3. Foreign Exchange (FX) Fee: When currency conversion is involved:

  • FX fee: 2%

Payment Security and Dispute Handling

1. Built-in Security and Risk Controls: Shoplazza Payments includes baseline payment security and fraud prevention features designed to reduce transaction risk:

  • Anti-fraud protection
  • 3D Secure (3DS) authentication

These capabilities are included as part of the payment service.

2. Dispute and Chargeback Fees: If a transaction enters a dispute or chargeback stage, handling fees may apply based on merchant region and dispute ratio.

  • HK / CA / US entities
    • Monthly dispute or fraud rate ≤ 1%: USD 15 per case
    • Any portion exceeding 1%: USD 20 per case
  • EU / UK entities
    • Monthly dispute or fraud rate ≤ 1%: EUR 20 / GBP 20 per case
    • Any portion exceeding 1%: EUR 26 / GBP 26 per case

These thresholds are used to determine pricing tiers only. Actual fees are defined in the signed agreement.

Final Pricing Confirmation Timing

Final pricing is confirmed after the merchant completes the Shoplazza Payments application and passes the required reviews. During the application and evaluation stage, Shoplazza provides fee structures, pricing rules, and illustrative examples for reference only. Fees are formally agreed upon and take effect only after the contract is executed.

Typical onboarding flow:

1. Submit merchant application

2. Provide business and entity information

3. Complete compliance review

4. Confirm contract and activate payments
