Manage Products | Setting up and shipping virtual goods

Virtual goods are products that don’t require a logistics provider or tracking number for delivery. Examples include services, digital downloads, and other non-physical items. This guide walks you through how to create a virtual product and mark it as shipped without needing to input shipping details.

Creating virtual products

Virtual products are non-physical items such as digital downloads, services, or memberships. To mark a product as virtual, you simply need to disable the shipping option during setup.

1. Start by creating a product: Go to your Shoplazza admin > Products > All products, then click Create product in the top-right corner.

2. Enter basic product information: Fill in the title, subtitle, and description as needed.

3. Mark the product as virtual: On the right-hand side, under the Attributes panel, toggle off Requires shipping to mark the item as a virtual product.

Shipping virtual goods

Once a virtual product is purchased, you can mark it as fulfilled without entering a logistics provider or tracking number. Virtual products display a “No shipping required” label, and the entire process can be completed with a few clicks from your Shoplazza admin.

1. Open the order for fulfillment: Go to your Shoplazza admin > Orders > All orders, switch to the Unfulfilled tab, and select the relevant order.

2. Begin the fulfillment process: On the order details page, click Fulfill items.

3. Confirm fulfillment details on the Fulfill order page:

  • The item will display a No shipping required label under the product name.
  • A shipping address is still required but will not be shown to the customer.
  • Click Fulfill order to continue.

4. Complete the fulfillment: Click Confirm delivery to mark the virtual product as delivered in your records.

Virtual goods provide a simple, efficient way to deliver non-physical products without shipping logistics. By setting them up correctly and following a clear fulfillment process, you can offer a seamless experience for both you and your customers. This approach also streamlines the management of services, digital content, and other logistics-free products in your store.
