App lifecycle

When you start building your apps on Shoplazza platform and submit to Shoplazza App Store, Your app typically would go through different stages or status of the app lifecycle,  the complete app lifecycle overview shown below.

Lifecycle

Getting to know the app lifecycle would help developers know the progress of your app.

The full app lifecycle is: Draft -> Submitted -> In Review -> Published -> Unpublished. See the details of every status in below.

Draft

  • When an app is created by a developer, the initial status is Draft.
  • In this status:
    • App developers start developing and testing the app using the settings in App settings.

Submitted

  • After the app developer is fully tested and ready to publish to the App store, the app developer could submit the app for review and app status turned to Submitted.
  • You should have your app listing information, otherwise you can not submit.
  • In this status:
    • You can not change your app listing information during the review process.
    • After you submit your app for review, it’s important to not change the app settings while the review team is reviewing your app, otherwise your changes will affect the review process and the process typically would take a lot longer.
  • The review team would start reviewing your app shortly by turning your app status to In Review which would be described below.

In Review

  • Your app starts the reviewing process when your app status turns to In Review.
  • In this status:
    • It’s important to not change the app settings while the review team is reviewing your app, otherwise your changes will affect the review process and the process typically would take a lot longer.
  • If your app fails in the review process, your app will be rejected and the app status will be turned back to Draft.
  • If your app succeed in the review process, your app will be approved and the app status will be turned to Published (Displayed live in partner dashboard)

Published(Live)

  • Your app has been approved and is live on the app store.
  • In this status:
    • App developers could still make changes on app settings and listings and it will affect the merchants who are using the app.
    • Developers should be careful about the changes that affect the merchant, developers should be responsible if any mistakes come up in their app.
    • We will constantly review your app periodically, if your app is not functioning properly or has bad experiences, your app will be unpublished from the app store which is described below.

Unpublished

  • Your app has been unpublished from the app store because some reviewing issues or the developer unpublished the app themselves.
  • In this status:
    • Unpublished app stop new users from installing your app from app store.
    • You can make some changes to your app, and resubmit your app to review to publish your app to the app store again.
