OnePixel | TikTok Advanced Matching

TikTok’s Advanced Matching feature helps connect your website activity with TikTok ads more effectively by using privacy-safe customer data, like email, phone number or their customerID. When you enable this feature through the OnePixel app, it improves how your ads are shown, helps track customer actions across different devices, and gives you a clearer picture of what’s driving results. You’ll be able to reach more people, follow their full journey from first visit to purchase, and fine-tune your campaigns for better performance. This guide walks you through how to install the OnePixel app and turn on Advanced Matching.

Installing the OnePixel app

Start by installing the OnePixel app from the Shoplazza App Store.

1. Access the App Store: From your Shoplazza Admin, go to Apps and click Visit App Store.

2. Find the app: Find the One Pixel app by entering the app name One Pixel  in the search box and click Add app.

3. Install the app: Click Install App to complete the installation.

Adding a TikTok Pixel

Once the app is installed, follow these steps to manually add your TikTok Pixel and enable Advanced Matching.

1. Select TikTok: After installing OnePixel, navigate to the TikTok section and click Add to create a new pixel.

2. Choose manual setup: Select Manually add pixel as the setup method.

3. Enter Pixel details: Fill in the Pixel Title and Pixel ID fields. To obtain your Pixel ID, refer to OnePixel | Creating and accessing your TikTok Pixel ID.

4. Enable Advanced Matching: Toggle the switch to activate Advanced Matching.

Advanced Matching helps TikTok recognize visitors more accurately by using privacy-safe details like email and phone number. If TikTok can’t match the visitor with this information, it will try using their IP address and browser data. If no match is found, TikTok will only track that single visit and won’t be able to link it to other actions the person might take later, like returning to your site or making a purchase. 5. Confirm setup: Click Confirm to finalize the setup.

User privacy protection at TikTok

TikTok follows strict privacy and security standards when handling customer data through Advanced Matching:

  • Encrypted data: Customer emails and phone numbers are encrypted in a privacy-safe format before being sent to TikTok. This means TikTok cannot identify users who are not already TikTok users.
  • Secure hashing: All identity information passed through the TikTok Pixel is hashed using the SHA256 algorithm before reaching TikTok’s servers.
  • Industry certifications: TikTok holds ISO 27001 certification in both the US and UK, demonstrating its commitment to data security.
  • Regulatory compliance: TikTok complies with the AT&T framework where applicable.
