Abandoned checkouts | Searching and recovering unpaid orders

Learn how to recover lost sales and improve conversion by tracking and recovering Abandoned Checkouts in Shoplazza. This guide helps you identify incomplete purchases, take action to re-engage customers, and optimize your order recovery process.

Accessing and understanding the abandoned checkouts page

The Abandoned checkouts page includes three key tabs that help you monitor recovery progress and take action on unpaid orders.

1. Head over to your Shoplazza admin > Orders > Abandoned checkouts: This opens the full dashboard for abandoned checkout activity.

2. Abandoned tab: Lists checkouts that were started but not completed. These unpaid orders are still eligible for recovery through follow-up actions.

  • Payment status: Typically shown as Pending.
  • Recovery status:
    • Not recovered: No recovery attempt has been made.
    • Email processing: A recovery email is in the process of being sent.
    • Recalling: Follow-up actions are in progress.
    • Recovery unsuccessful: The customer did not complete the purchase despite follow-up.
  • Click Send email or Resend email to follow up and recover the order.

3. Recovered tab: Shows checkouts where the customer returned and completed payment after receiving a recovery message.

  • Payment status: Marked as Paid (or Refunded, if applicable).
  • Recovery status: Listed as Recovered.
  • These orders are ready to be fulfilled through your normal order processing workflow.

4. All orders tab: The All Orders tab shows a complete list of all unpaid checkouts — whether or not they’re eligible for recovery. This includes entries that are still in the recovery process, as well as checkouts where recovery actions aren’t available (e.g., missing contact details).

  • Use this tab for auditing, manual follow-up, or gaining a broader view of incomplete purchase activity.
  • The Recovery status column in this tab helps you quickly identify which stage each checkout is in:
    • Not recovered: No action taken yet.
    • Email processing: A recovery email is being prepared or delivered.
    • Recalling: Follow-up message is active.
    • Recovery unsuccessful: The order was not recovered.
    • Recovered: The customer completed the purchase after the reminder.
  • Use filters like date range or order amount to identify time-sensitive and high-value checkouts.
