Flash sales are fast-paced promotions offering deep discounts for a short period, encouraging customers to act quickly. These events are great for boosting sales, clearing inventory, and drawing attention to your store. Flash sales create urgency, leading to higher conversion rates and increased traffic. Below is a guide to help you set up your own flash sales campaign in your Shoplazza store.
Creating a Flash sales campaign
1. Start your campaign: Navigate to your Shoplazza Center admin by going to Marketing > Flash sale. Click on Create campaign to begin setting up your new promotion.
2. Fill in basic information: In the Basic Information section, give your campaign a descriptive title that reflects the promotion. Set the Start date and End date for the campaign, or if you’d like it to run indefinitely, select the Long-term option. It’s important to ensure the dates and times match your store's time zone for accurate scheduling.
3. Choose your promotion type: Next, select the type of discount you’ll be offering:
- Fixed discount: Applies a set discount amount to the selected products.
- Amount reduction: Offers a percentage discount based on the total purchase.
- Fixed price: Assigns a new specific sale price to the items.
4. Set your order limits: Decide if you want to limit how many items customers can buy at the promotional price:
- Unlimited: Customers can buy as many discounted items as they like, which is ideal for large stock promotions.
- Limit order per product: Restricts the number of units a customer can purchase for each product in the sale.
- Limit per person per activity: Puts a cap on how many items a customer can buy across the entire promotion period.
Note
If customers exceed these limits, the extra items will automatically revert to the regular listing price, ensuring your stock and margins are protected.
5. Select your sales channels: Choose where your flash sale will be available—whether in your Online store, Retail stores, or both. Depending on your campaign's reach and focus, you can apply it to All stores or narrow it down to specific ones. Each individual store must activate the promotion once it's created here.
Note
Consider your audience and where they will most likely engage with the promotion when selecting sales channels.
6. Target your customers: In this section, decide which customers are eligible for the flash sale. You can make the offer available to Every customer or target Specified customer segments or customers. This is a great way to tailor your campaign to their needs if you want to drive traffic from a particular group.
7. Pick your products: Select the products included in the flash sale. You can sort your product list in a way that works best for you (e.g., alphabetically) and then click Select product to add them to your sale. Once confirming the selected products, click Next to configure the Campaign page settings.
Note
Products must have a Compare-at price greater than $0 to ensure the discount is properly applied.
Campaign page settings
The Campaign page settings section allows you to customize how your flash sale appears on your store's landing and product pages. You can adjust banners, promotional copy, progress bars, and design elements to match your branding. A handy preview window allows you to toggle between mobile and desktop views to ensure your campaign looks great across all devices. Personalize these settings to create a seamless customer experience and convey a sense of urgency that drives conversions.
1. Preview on landing page: Customize how your flash sale appears on the landing page. Start by adding an image for your Activity landing page poster. You can upload files or provide a URL for the image. Choose between two display types:
- Full screen: Your banner will cover the entire width of the page.
- Centered display: The banner will appear with margins on the sides, centered within the page layout.
Note
The recommended size is 1920px x 300px for fullscreen display and 1410px x 300px for centered display. Ensure your images are in jpg/png/gif format.
2. Banner settings: Toggle the banner on or off, depending on whether you want it to appear on your landing page. You can also set your promotional copy here. Keep it concise but effective, like “Flash Sale!” to grab customer attention. Adjust the color scheme:
- Default: Uses pre-set color settings that match your store’s theme.
- Custom: Customize the colors to align with your brand’s identity.
3. Progress bar settings: To show how many items are left or have been sold, toggle the progress bar to On. Further, customize the color scheme for the progress bar by choosing Custom colors. Choose whether to display it as:
- Percentage: Shows the percentage of items sold.
- Number: Displays the exact number of items remaining.
4. Preview on product page: Just like on the landing page settings, customize how the flash sale banner appears on individual product pages. Synchronize the color scheme by clicking Sync color above to match the landing page settings, or set custom colors here.
Campaign management and tracking
1. Viewing and managing the campaign: The flash sale is created in the Center Admin, where you define all the details, such as the sales channels, duration, and discounts. Once the flash sale is live, it will be visible in the Online store admin under Marketing > Flash Sales. However, note that these views are for reference only. You can only view the campaign, but no edits can be made here.
To manage or adjust the campaign (e.g., duplicating or terminating it), return to the Shoplazza Center Admin where the campaign was created.
Note
Each individual store must activate the flash sale after it’s been created in the Center Admin. This ensures that the promotion is active and running in their respective channels.
2. Tracking campaign performance: While the flash sale is created in the Center Admin, the activity reports are only available in the Online Store reports. Here’s how to track your campaign performance:
- Online Store Admin: Navigate to Analytics > Reports > Flash sale data overview. This will provide detailed insights into the performance of the flash sale in the online store.
