How do I ensure my Shoplazza product reviews display correctly on my storefront?

Displaying product reviews effectively on your storefront is essential for providing valuable feedback to potential customers, boosting your sales, and improving your store’s performance. If your Shoplazza native product reviews, which are built into your Shoplazza admin, aren’t showing on the product detail page, or the star rating below the product title doesn’t display the reviews, follow these steps to check your configuration and ensure your reviews are visible to customers. Please note, these instructions are specific to the native review feature and not for any third-party review apps.

Troubleshooting issues with product review display on the product detail page

  • Issue: The product detail page doesn’t show product reviews, or clicking the star rating below the product title doesn’t display reviews.
  • Reason: The product detail reviews section hasn’t been added to the default product page when customizing the theme.

Resolving the issue

1. Accessing theme customization: From your Shoplazza admin > Online Store > Themes. Choose your theme and click Customize.

2. Switch page type: In the theme editor, click the drop-down menu in the title bar. Switch the page type to Products Default product.

3. Add required section: Navigate to the default product page. Click Add section at the bottom of the left navigation bar (not to be confused with Add block).

4. Search and add product detail reviews section: Use the quick search bar to find Product detail reviews. Click on the search result to add this section.

5. Checking the review module: If you can’t find the product detail reviews section, check if the review module is enabled:

  • Go to your Shoplazza admin Products Reviews Settings.

  • Ensure the review module is enabled. If it is, disable and re-enable it, then Save the changes. Return to your Themes Default product detail page and add the section again.

6. Save your configuration: Click Save draft or Publish to make the changes live. The product detail reviews section should now be visible on the storefront.

Fixing incomplete review display

  • Issue: A product has 10 reviews, but only 6 are displayed on the storefront.
  • Reason: The review star rating doesn’t meet the automatic publishing conditions or the filtering criteria in the product review section.

Resolving the issue

1. Check rating limits: Log into your Shoplazza admin, go to Products Reviews Settings, and under the Auto-publish new reviews section, click the drop-down menu for Rating to view the limits.

2. Check the review display filter: If the above settings are correct, go to your Themes Default Product page, click on the Product Detail Review section, and view the Condition for sync.

Note

Ensure the rating conditions for Auto-publish new reviews and Condition for sync are the same. For example, if the auto-publish rating is set to 2 stars and above, the sync condition should also be set to at least 2 stars.
