Adding a quick payment button on the product details page

Integrating an express checkout button on your product details page helps simplify the payment process and provides a better shopping experience. Add options like Google Pay, Apple Pay, and PayPal to streamline checkout. Note that adding a PayPal quick payment button involves a different setup process. For step-by-step guidance on configuring the PayPal button, refer to the help document: Enabling the PayPal Express Checkout button on the product page.

1. Access and customize your theme: Log in to your Shoplazza admin, navigate to Online Store >  Themes, and click Customize next to your active theme.

2. Select the product details page: In the theme editor, use the page dropdown menu, choose Default, and then select Default product to open the product details page settings.

3. Navigate to Product details: In the left-hand panel, find Product details and click Add block.

4. Add the express checkout button: Scroll to the Apps section and select the Express checkout button.

5. Configure the block: Click the Express checkout button title to open its settings. Customize the options according to your preferences.

  • Enable payment methods: Toggle the options for Google Pay, Apple Pay, PayPal, or other available payment methods.
  • Choose service providers: Select the appropriate service provider from the dropdown list for each enabled payment method.
  • Set the display limit: Adjust the maximum number of payment methods shown. If the total number of enabled methods exceeds this limit, customers will see a prompt for More payment options and can click to view all available methods.

Note

To enable PayPal as a payment option, activate the PayPal Express Checkout option in your Shoplazza admin > Settings > Payments > PayPal.

Common issues and solutions

Understanding how to troubleshoot common issues can save time and ensure a smooth setup experience. Here are some frequent challenges and how to address them.

1. Payment method not activated: If you see an error like "Please activate ShoplazzaPayments - GooglePay" or "Please activate ShoplazzaPayments - ApplePay," follow these steps:

  • Activate Payment Methods: Go to Shoplazza admin > Settings > Payments and enable the necessary payment methods. Also, ensure that the Express Checkout feature is enabled for each.

  • For PayPal: Confirm that the PayPal Express Checkout option is enabled in Settings > Payments > PayPal. Additionally, ensure the "Show ‘PayPal Express Checkout’ button" setting is enabled in the Buy Buttons block within the Product details section of your theme editor. Both configurations must be active for the PayPal button to appear.

2. Unsupported Theme: The quick payment button component is only available for certain themes on the product details page. Supported themes include: Nova2023, Night, Bamboo, Moon, Sweet, Morning, Geek, Impress, Christmas, Wind, and Flash.

3. Apple Pay or Google Pay not displaying: Apple Pay and Google Pay have browser-specific requirements:

  • Apple Pay: This option only works on Safari and requires an Apple device (iPhone, iPad, or Mac) with a valid card linked to Apple Wallet.
  • Google Pay: This option is available on Chrome, Edge, or Opera and requires a valid card linked to Google Wallet.

Use compatible browsers to test these payment options. For more setup guidance, see the help document: How do I integrate Apple Pay and Google Pay into my store?

Following these steps ensures that customers can access quick and reliable checkout options, helping to increase satisfaction and improve conversion rates.
