Importing gift cards

Importing gift cards allows you to easily distribute them to a large number of customers. Simply upload a file, and the system will automatically generate and send out the gift cards. This feature saves you time and makes it convenient for you to distribute gift cards in large quantities. This guide will walk you through each step of the process.

Importing gift cards

1. From your Shoplazza Admin > Products > Gift card, click Import.

2. If this is your first time, make sure to download the Gift Card Template to get started. Open the downloaded template to update the required fields. For details on what each field means, refer to the end of this article.

3. Once the file is updated, click Select File to upload the template file.

4. Select the Email template that will be used for sending the gift cards.

5. Simply click on the Import button to start the process.

6. Once the import process is complete, a summary will appear showing the number of successful imports and the number of failures. Click Download failure list and reasons in the pop-up window to see the specific reasons for the failures.

What to include in the Gift Card Template file

Here's an explanation of what each field means:

• Email: Mandatory. Must be in a valid email format and limited to 50 characters. The import will fail if the character limit is exceeded.
• Last Name: Optional. Limited to 50 characters.
• First Name: Optional. Limited to 50 characters.
• New Customer Creation: If the email address is not associated with an existing customer, a new profile will be created using the given details. The process will fail if the Last Name and First Name are incomplete.
• Gift Card Code: Optional. Must be between 8-20 characters. The system will auto-generate a code if left blank.
• Gift Card Amount: Mandatory. The default is your store currency, and the maximum amount should not exceed $9,999.99.
• Expiration Date: Format should be yyyy-mm-dd (e.g., 2023-11-11). If left blank, the card will never expire.
• Note: Optional. Limited to 50 characters. These remarks will only be visible to you.
• File Type: Only XLSX files are supported, with a maximum of 1000 data entries.
