Resolving SEO Issues

Clicking Re-scan in the SEO Checklist performs a 5-minute website SEO scan. For fixing issues, use recommended tools or make manual adjustments as needed.

1. SEO Checklist: When you click Scan, the system will conduct an SEO scanning on the website. This process should take around 5 minutes. The scan can detect 3 possible results:

  • Improvements: This section identifies areas that may impact SEO and suggests ways to enhance overall performance.
  • Good result: This section confirms that no issues were detected.

2. Resolving identified issues: Review the ongoing issues and recommended actions by expanding the highlighted menu. Some issues come with tools for fixes. If no tool is available, review the issue and adjust manually.

Adding Meta tags for your store

Meta tags are snippets of text that describe a page’s content; they don’t appear on the page itself but only in the page’s code. They help search engines understand the content of pages, which can improve the site’s visibility in search results. Click Meta tags to manage SEO tags for different pages. Preview changes on Google and modify tags by searching for product titles and other information across the site.

1. Configure tag settings for each page: Click the Meta tags tab to navigate between different pages where SEO tags can be set. Adjust the tags for each page to meet SEO best practices and requirements.

2. Preview changes: As tags are configured, use the Google preview feature to see how changes will appear in search results. This helps ensure that tags are optimized for better visibility.

Modifying the Meta tags on different pages

Search for specific product titles, collections, or blog posts within your store to update their meta tags. This process ensures that all relevant pages have consistent and effective SEO tags.

1. Homepage: in the Homepage tab, update the SEO title, description, and keywords for the homepage.

2. Product pages: Navigate to the Product tab to set SEO tags for individual product pages.

3. Collection pages: Use the Collection tab to add or modify SEO tags for various product collections.

4. Blog posts: Go to the Blog tab to update the SEO tags for each blog post.

Note

Tips for Using Alt Text

1. Alt attributes and Alt text: These are descriptions of the image used to display explanatory text when the image cannot be displayed.

2. Search engine understanding: Images are more challenging for search engines to understand than text. Alt text helps search engines comprehend images and related web pages. Precise Alt text increases the likelihood of images being found in search queries.

3. Linked images: For linked images, search engines treat Alt text like anchor text in text links. Relevant links help improve search engine rankings.

4. Consistent use: Ensure that Alt text is used on all images, whether they are from the gallery or newly created

Fixing broken links

Navigate to Broken Links to identify and redirect invalid links to a specific URL, ensuring users are directed to the desired page and improving SEO performance.

1. Identify and redirect broken links: When a product is removed from the store or a page is deleted, there may be broken links in the store, which will affect the SEO performance of the website. Redirect an invalid page to a specific link and save it. After doing so, when the user visits the broken link, it will be redirected to the page you want them to visit.

Note

  • To redirect to the store’s home page, simply type /.
  • For specific paths, use a format like /collection/shirts.
  • To redirect to a full URL, enter the complete address, such as http://www.yourstore.com/collection/shirts.

Setting up the Sitemap

6. Submit the sitemap: Copy the sitemap address locaed in the Sitemap section in the SEO optimizer app and paste it in your Google Search Console.

Note

After a successful submission, the Shoplazza system will automatically update the sitemap daily at midnight. If any page changes, you can manually update it by resubmitting the sitemap. Since Google’s indexing is not in real-time, check the indexing results the day after submission.

Setting up Google Snippets

Navigate to Google Snippets to enable or disable certain settings. These include breadcrumb structures for search results, product information display, and homepage meta tags, enhancing how your site appears in Google search.

1. Enable or disable Google Snippets: Toggle the switch to enable or disable each snippet type. Each type provides a preview to see how it looks. Save the settings after making changes

2. Snippet Types:

  • Breadcrumbs: Use a breadcrumb structure to display search results and help users understand the site page structure. This breadcrumb will not show in the store, but only in the search engine results.
  • Products: This snippet structure helps users better understand the products sold in the store. Product information such as title, description, price, and ratings will be displayed.
  • Sitelinks: Use this structure to help users know more about your store. Sitelinks include various page descriptions that appear under your main site link in search results.
