US Energy Labeling Rule
If your product complies with the energy labeling rules, it is your responsibility to ensure that the correct label, icon or water use information is displayed on the details page.
The federal Energy Labeling Rule requires that these products display:
- Yellow EnergyGuide labels on detail pages for certain appliances
- White Lighting Facts labels on detail pages for certain lighting products
- An energy icon (an encircled capital letter "E") on detail pages for certain lighting products
- Water use information on detail pages for certain plumbing products
EU Energy Labeling requirements

According to Regulation 2017/1369 , all energy-related products must display labels on a scale from A (most efficient) to G (least efficient).

As of March 1, 2021, the rescaled labels apply to four product categories: washing machines and washer-dryers, dishwashers, electronic displays, and refrigerators.

From September 1, 2021, the rescaled labels will apply to light sources.

The energy labels of other energy-related products will also be rescaled in the following years.
Note
Energy-related products, such as air conditioners and comfort fans, air heating and cooling products, lighting, televisions, tumble driers, computers, power transformers, vacuum cleaners, external power supplies and fridges.
The regulation does not apply to second hand products, unless the second hand product is imported from outside the European Union.
- Dealers of energy-related products must visibly display the energy label.
- Additional requirements may apply for certain products – you should always consult the specific regulations.
EPR Requirements
If you sell electronics in Germany, you will be obliged to check if you are compliant with your EPR obligations in product category: Packaging.
Starting July 01, 2022,all producers of packaged goods in Germany must register in the LUCID packaging register .

UK Energy Labeling requirements
- According to EU Energy Labeling Regulation and UK Energy Information Regulations , all energy-related products must display labels on a scale from A (most efficient) to G (least efficient)
- Dealers of energy-related products must visibly display the energy label.
- Additional requirements may apply for certain products – you should always consult the specific regulations.
