Before launching your store to the public, a few key steps will ensure a smooth and successful opening. This includes setting up your store policies and removing password protection. These elements build trust with your customers and provide a professional experience from day one.
Setting Up a Trustworthy Store
1. Review and manage store policies:
- Check for existing policies: Visit your store as a customer would, looking for links to your Terms of Service and Privacy Policy, typically in the header or footer. Also, check within your admin at Shoplazza admin > Online store > Custom page.
-
Create or update: If these policies don't exist or need updating, you have a few options: You can create your own or use our built-in tools.
- Generate standard documents: Create a standard Terms of Service document here. Click here to generate a Google-compliant Privacy Policy.
- Customize: Whether you create your own or use our tools, carefully review and customize the content to accurately reflect your business practices, including details about data handling, shipping, returns, and other relevant policies.
2. Confirm compliance: Once you're satisfied with your Terms of Service and Privacy Policy, ensure they are easily accessible on your website, typically in the footer.
Removing Password Protection
To open your store to the public, you'll need to remove the password protection. This requires linking a valid credit card or bank account for billing. If no billing method is linked, the password removal will be unsuccessful.
1. Add a billing method: Go to your Shoplazza admin and navigate to Plan and billing. Add your preferred billing method (credit card or bank account).
2. Disable password protection: Once a billing method is added, go to Store information. Under the Password Protection setting, disable the password protection.
Completing these final steps will prepare you to launch your online store. Having your store policies in order and removing the password will ensure a smooth and professional experience for your customers from day one.
